First time BMW owner, and post...
I bought my wife a 2013 X3 for our anniversary. After driving it for 8K miles, I decided to change the oil/air filter. After replacing the air filter, I noticed that the black wire on the MAF plug was off. My wife drove it, and the start/stop function stopped working. I bought the pins, and had a friend solder them. AFter the, drivetrain malfunction for MAF "A" circuit range - Air flow too low. I replaced the MAF plug, and put the wire in where I believe they went. It has four plugs, yet only 3 wires. Car goes 1 block, and the same error repeats. I took it to a dealer, and they had a shotgun approach, and wanted $4,400 to replace the turbo. Has anyone seen this issue, or have a pinout for the MAF sensor? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
Don
I got an ODB detector, and live stats showed that the MAF was working, and .44 gallons of air were detected. So, I am assuming that the MAF sensor works. I guess my question now is why is there still a "permanent" error code on the DTC list of codes?
Take it to a good independent BMW shop for another look
