Hi Dave, Yes! it's the concept we spoke of years back when I was evaluating what/how to get a high quality audio head unit upgrade for the E39 ! it has taken a few years for sure as I did a stack of R&D and talked, consulted with the right specialists to get my knowledge and information to evaluate which route I'd take. This is the result and I'm proud that I kept all of my personally set criteria for it ! In the USA, the Dynavin is well and crucially, properly supported by Jeff at J&T. He also gets the usual issue of failed units but as the importer/dealer, operates professionally and looks after the purchaser/customer. All the UK companies that tried to do the same, or said they would, are no longer in business or dropped importing them in. The support and after sales care was and still is rubbish to the level one such dealer was taken to court and it was proved the units were not fit for purpose! I wanted to be able to offer owners the option of a high quality and brand head unit and have very close to OEM looks ! The design is for the E39 - hence NXG-39, franco decided to purchase one and adapt it for his E38, I do have plans to design and create an specific E38 version and will call it the NXG-38 !
Weekend project coming up for you ! provided it's not too cold in NYC !
Cheers, Dennis!

Very, very nice!
I see this thread is a year old but are these still available to buy?

Hi Dennis,
Can I order an e38 version from You yet? I'm ready to purchase asap. Thanks !!
Hi setconstr,
I wish I did have the E38 version designed and ready to manufacture/ship! I'm focusing on the E46 version as mentioned in the prior response and things have been much, much slower due to the effects of CV19 as I'm sure you're aware.
In due course, with respect to feedback from E38 owners, I will make a specific one but as yet, I've no timeframe.
If you are happy to make some modification to the NXG-39 like franco90 has, then you'll be able to purchase one now and have it in your car like he has
Cheers, Dennis!
Hi Dennis, new to forum so I don't think I have the ability to pm you.
Am from Australia and interested in discussing options available.
Do you have an email I am able to contact you on?
Thank you, Peter.
Hi Peter,
Seems I can't PM you either! I don't wish to post publicly for the sole reason those nasty bots will harvest it and send me shed loads of spam and useless junk !
I suggest you post up with more activity, post threads and reply to 10/15 threads and I think the PM option then becomes available.
As you're in Australia and most likely have a RHD Touring, do check out (if you haven't already done so) https://forum.bmw5.co.uk/ which is a UK centric forum, I have the same user name there as well, I can't quite remember if you need a certain number of posts/activity in order to be able to PM though.
Cheers, Dennis!

Hey Dennis, bought one of these bad boys a while back and I'm in the midst of getting a friend of mine to make up a raspberry pi based media centre. Was just wondering if you can provide any info on what the 12 pin plug on the back of the PCB is.
I'm hoping to be able to map functions to the pi via the buttons.
Thanks mate, great product
Hi DSLWGN,
The Port on the PCB will allow a connector to be attached and then each button press will provide a logic output so that you can connect to a home brew interface you make to then connect to the Raspberry Pi in this case, you want to have made.
I've got the connectors with me here, I'll update you on the pins of the connector correspond to each button.
I'm also in midst of getting some custom symbols etched onto blank buttons, so if there's any specific functions you'd like a button for, that should be possible. Drop me a PM and I'll look into this more for you.
Cheers, Dennis!
Would you happen to know the name of the plug type?
Any site where I can find more info? Does it come with screen or not what screens are supported?
Does this work with the 'High' gauge cluster readout?

Hi,
DSLWGN - I left the 'tech & procurement' of the individual components on the PCB to my manufacturer and I asked for a 'end product' delivered to me, so I don't have the technical reference no. of the connector with me. I can find out, but bit of a moot point as I have some here!
MParallel - Are you following me?! You can read and see pictures, along with some feedback from customers here - https://forum.bmw5.co.uk/topic/13564...le-din-fascia/ To clarify, you buy a shallow depth head unit of your choice from a car audio retailer/online etc and I manufacture the Fascia/fitting kit
The high quality double DIN head units don't support reading the parameters of the OBC, and the makers of the ibus APP when I asked if it will work on Android Auto, didn't seem to know what I meant! maybe more recently they do know etc, so I'll drop them a line again. In the meantime, I'm working on a concept I've thought up to have the OBC data available when using a hgih quality double DIN and NXG-39(38/46 when I get those done!)
Cheers, Dennis!

Instead of Ibus, I wished some one for once did a K(and L for older model) line support so we can display everything you normally do in DIS/INPA on the onboard screen.

Dennis, cheers! I'm in the US and interested in getting one of these for my 2000 540i...looks awesome compared to the plain black plastic kit available from my stereo shop. Do you suspect any double din unit will be comptaible? Specficially looking at the Pioneer DMH-W4600NEX. Also, how do I go about purchasing?
(FYI new to the forum as the car is new to me).
Hi Vefox,
I suggest you do be involved with the forum more, contribute knowledge and info you may have and boost your post count up and then you'll be able to send private/direct messages to other members! Then I'd not have missed your post above for a few days!
. I suggest shallow depth double DIN head units for easier fitting into our E39's and the Pioneer DMH-4600NEX is indeed such a unit, so should fit. It's the 'nose' of the head unit that needs to fit through the aperture of the NXG-39. Some Kenwood units from a couple years ago were just 1mm too big for instance! a Few customers spent about 10 mins carefully filing off 1mm of material to then have the head unit's fit nicely !
My website is placeholder currently, so please don't laugh at it ! but you can order directly if you wish - http://innovadrive.uk/product/nxg-39
Cheers, Dennis!

Did you trim the radio or the metal bracket?
Dennis, any idea when your units will be back in stock. Thanks, Ted
I literally just joined this forum so I can contact Dennis about his NXG-39 fascia. Anxious for the re-stock!
Hey Dennis
I placed an order a few months ago and haven’t gotten anything still
