    RF Subframe Reinforcement San Francisco

I have a 99 M Coupe that I purchased in 2006 and I am finally ready to do Randy’s subframe reinforcement. I also want to use the time to replace the 10 year old tc kline suspension and clutch as well as a few other wear items to really keep the car in as new or better condition.

Is there a shop in San Francisco that people recommend that can do this kind of work? The subframe reinforcement is obviously a big job and I want to make sure it is done right.

There's a VERY experienced installer in the East Bay, Matt Medeiros. Matt has done around forty (40+) reinforcements; to the best of my knowledge, only one person has done more (I'm at just over 100).

He's also good at setting up track cars, so tuning suspension work are other specialties.

You can reach Matt at: https://www.vtmotorworks.com/contact

Matt just did Randy's reinforcement on my 2000 M Roadster a couple months ago. I highly recommend them. Both Randy's kit and Matt's work are TOP notch.
Matt also was the guy that installed my suspension and subframe bushings about 15 years ago when he worked at a different shop and it's still working great.

awesome car. What's that bracket below the differential? just protection or some sort of additional reinforcement?

That's a Strong Strut Rear Brace (Butt Brace) http://www.strong-strut.com/Z3/Z3%20...ts.htmlhttp://
It ties the huge studs that hold the rear sub frame up to the car together. Where the sub frame bushings slide over. With Ploy sub frame bushing you don't really need the Butt Brace but I had it on there be for the poly bushing came out and it helped. Poly bushing are such a big improvement that I don't think the but brace is needed any more. The strut and the bushings both tame the rear end of the car.

Thanks, everyone. I’m going to start stock piling the parts and have contacted Matt about performing the work.

I'm going to be offering up my Butt Strut for sale in the coming weeks and months. I'm having Randy install Ireland Engineering bushings so the brace is overkill.
