Hello all,
About a week ago I noticed that my engine was making a slight squeaking/ticking noise after starting. I popped the hood and noticed a lot of oil leaking out below my oil filter housing(picture attached). The next day I dropped the car off at my Indy shop and had both gaskets replaced, and an oil change. ($600 for parts, labor, and oil change).
Post repair the squeak seems louder and doesn't go away as fast as it would previously. (Possibly because the temperatures have now gotten into the 30-40s in GA?)
I've read some posts about oil leaking down to the belt and causing damage.
Alternator? Pulley bearings? Belt?
Pictures attached are before the repair. Video is taken after the repair.

Thanks
Did they replace the engine belt and the belt tensioner, plus the upper radiator hose
sounds like belt tensioner. Mine is doing the same thing
Totally stock 97 740iL except for SatRad
Hi, thanks for the response! I had my tensioner pulley and belt replaced at my local Indy shop. While my car was being repaired they noticed the radiator hose (3 pieces) was cracked. I had that replaced as well.
I paid $480 for parts and labor for the entire job. Take care of it asap! If that belt comes off it can do some serious damage.
My car sounds great now.
I changed the belt tensioner, still the squeaking noise. Any suggestions to quiet it down prior to repair?
