Okay, so I have a dead yellow Bilstein on the right front of a 528iT.
Two questions...
First, the number stamped into the body is 3203VN3 4439HO. What new model Bilstein does this correspond to? (yes, I will get a pair). Need springs, too, as the spring broke. Normal height is fine.
Second, any comments on the lifespan of the strut? If this is the replacement for the original and it's now dead, what might be a good guess at the mileage? 250k, 350k, or higher? The odo stopped working at 637k, and in some ways, I'm thinking that might not be too far off.
Thanks,
Vince
Good news is that your front struts are the same as a sedan. I would call Bilstein customer service and confirm the part number to the correct model. If you have the original purchase receipt you can get the one replaced under warranty, otherwise you will need to pay out of pocket but will have a warranty going forward.
Bilstein usually last a while on the I6 cars but if you got 250K out of it, then you are doing quite well!
