Since winter has started I have been getting a check coolant level warning on the gauge cluster. It only shows up first thing in the morning when it's below 45 degrees or so outside. It also doesn't do it every morning. The warning disappears when I start the car up later in the afternoon when it's warm outside. Could it be a faulty sensor? The car Does not over heat in the morning or the afternoon. When I do the in the hidden menu on the cage cluster the highest it's been is 112 Celsius.
Are you short on coolant? Have you checked the float is level with the top of the expansion tank when the coolant is stone cold? Coolant expands when hot - and contracts when cold.

I agree with Timm. It's probably just a tiny bit low where it's only below the warning level when the coolant is cold and once it expands a little, it's above the level.
