In my search for a F25 X3 28i, (N52) I have come upon a 2012 with 65k that is getting a bunch of items fixed BMW dealership. (Same dealership that is selling it)
I drove the car prior, it had a few issues to get fixed apparently: Wheel Bearing / Head Gasket / Engine/transmission seal.
This was a bummer since I drove 2 hours to see the car and was not told about any of the issues prior. After finding out all these issues were going to be fixed the dealership is now asking for and extra 1k for all the work getting put into it.
After speaking to a few BMW mechanics the consensus was to stay away
from that vehicle due to the fact that the engine is being opened up for the head gasket, which they both said is uncommon for this engine and signifies that it could have had overheating issues.
Wondering if this is overly conservative, or if I should indeed stay away from any n52 with a repaired head gasket seal.
These cars are a dime a dozen.
Why did you need to drive 2 hours?
I would keep looking.
Yes yes yes stay away from it
