Front Moulding Rocker Panel Replacement

Evening!

I was lucky to get a good deal on the front license plate delete moulding strip for my E38. Now, as you can imagine, all the other moulding looks pretty old. Is it possible to replace the front left and right black moulding (#2) without replacing the body colored "cover" (#7)?

If not replaceable, anyone have a solid recommendation on a product to use on it?

Yes those are a separate piece. New about $75 a side on one site. Just search part numbers for #2, left and right. Alternatively you could try to restore the ones you have or find some decent used ones but new might match the new center strip better.

Thank you! Does part #7 have to come off first or does part #2 just pull straight out like the license plate part #5?

Part #7 will come off with part #2. I think you'll need to pull off the bumper and remove the headlight washers first if you have those.
