Last year same day we had the same problem, admin has to renew the certificate and then all is good for another year.

If they move to LetsEncrypt the SSL is free. But it will have to be updated every 90 days.
Admins need to set a calendar alert for a week before this date every year, so they don’t forget to update the cert.
They should also set an alert for the domain name expiration, software licenses that need to be re-upped, etc.
FWIW, this is IT 101 level stuff.
