E32 in Biodiesel? Or do you mean Bio fuel? There was no E32 with a diesel engine.
I will move the thread to the E32 forum, the filter is on top of the rear axle, right side, see here http://www.evansweb.info/category/bmw-repairs/list/
Bio fuel can clog when getting old, also check the pre-filter of the fuel pump inside the tank, some info here from an 750 which has 2 fuel pumps http://bmwe32.masscom.net/sean750/fu...t/Fuelpump.htm
Test the fuel pump, maybe it is 'frozen' after one year no use, have seen many of them in long time stored E32.
check the distributor and distributor rotor.
Did you check the ignition coil for sparks?
Remove spark plugs and see if they are wet

    wrong fuel problem

I mistakenly put leaded petrol into my 1987 E32 -735i sedan and now it cranks over but will not start! It had been laid-up for a year prior to this caused by my illness [85yrs of age].I would dearly like to see her up 'n running so would appreciate advices as to possible "fixes"!,,,scarse

I merged your 2 threads into one, same subject.
Probably not a problem of the wrong fuel. There were E32 w/o catalytic converter which ran on leaded fuel too. If it was stored for a year, there are probably other problems, first check the fuel pump if it still works and conveys enough fluid. After one year it could be stuck from the old fuel. A standard M30 fuel pump has flollowing nominal values:
The M30 fuel pump is originally Bosch , operating pressure is 3 bar, conveying capcity at 12 V 1.9 liter/minute, conveying capacity against counterpressure 875 ccm/30 seconds, Power consumption is 5A

easiest way to test the fuel pump without much work and disassembling: Open the hood, remove the cover from B+ post, use a piece of cable/wire and jumper from B+ for a brief time directly onto fuse 23. Ignition off when you do this. Before doing that squeeze the fuel hose coming up left hand side and do the same after you gave power to the fuses. The fuel pump will prime for a moment then. As engine is off, one can easily hear the fuel pump when it starts pumping, also the fuel hose should then under pressure afterwards. In case you need new fuel pumps and you want to do it cheapest, get one from the online shops in Australia, the Bosch pump is pretty expensive.

Check the distributor and distributor rotor for oxidation. Wiring diagrams are here http://shark.armchair.mb.ca/~dave/BMW/e32/
Maybe a Aussie member here on the forum can help you. What area do you live in Australia?

    I haven't heard of a diesel E32. Was it a home conversion with a M21?
Do you mean back in the old days you used to run super (lead fuel), which was stopped in ~1990. Or do you mean you used to run unleaded fine (91ron) but now you can only find E10 (10% ethanol - 94ron) and that's your problem?

I'm really confused because you couldn't have put leaded petrol into anything recently
If its a petrol motor and not diesel, check coil, HT leads, spark. Fuel pump operation and crank sensor.
If it's diesel (there was no 735i diesel) and you put unleaded into it I don't know what to say.

If you give your exact location maybe someone can come by and help. If not maybe at least know a good mobile mech nearby that knows these old cars.
