Two Piece Aluminum Shifter Surround for Z3

Gotta love Z3 enthusiasts that are also craftsmen! Top notch part for the Z3 shifter surround from a zroadster.org forum member out of South Africa.

No affiliation (well, except that I bought one), but if there's any interest I'd be happy to let the creator know. I think it worked out to about $110USD including shipping. Not bad for a machined part with actual metal hardware in lieu of the M's fake plastic screws. It definitely works with the sportier interior theme I'm going for.

I haven't installed yet, but installation involves trimming the leather shift boot so it can be sandwiched between the two metal pieces and held on place with the screws.

    P. S. No clue why photos look like crap or got rotated.

Can anyone make a thin plastic insert to replace the area that breaks near the convertible top and ac buttons? I would think one would sell well. Maybe cut out the existing area and snap in the new one? It almost looks like he did that with this one in one of the pictures.

This is for the Z3, not an M. Those are my parts and they're factory.

If he could make a plastic snap in insert to replace the existing one of these that would be so awesome. Would help so many people. No need to replace the whole unit since its so much work. I understand that the pictured is for a Z3. I was thinking if someone had a way to make snap in replacement in plastic for both it would be amazing.

Beautiful craftsmanship! In honest metal, rather than cheap plastic.

I purchased one of these too and love it! How did your mounting bracket fit? Mine was about 3/8" too big at the top where it squeezes together to fit into the console. Nothing a little cutting and drilling couldn't fix.
