You could wrap some reflective material around the end closed to the header. It’s also easy to get to so you can wait and do that only if the silicon elbow softens up and melts or slips off.

I'd wrap your header in this stuff. The bad thing is that it's the cylinder the closest to the collector and will not be the coolest running pipe. Having an insulated manifold is never a bad thing either.

For a street car that coupler will probably last a long time. In a drifting or road racing application it will not hold up for long. The coupler will get rock hard and split.

i just got lucky with a 45* swivel fitting
same one from the hx40
I could not even get a dash 10 fitting on my drain flange, the nut of the fitting always made contact with the ex housing mani flange... had to mac guyver something. Drain flange to 4" pipe to dash 10... so now its a real pain to work on the ex housing cover hex bolts and the flange bolts. :|

Plus i really dont wanna spend 70$ for that drain flange thing, tho it looks like a quality piece and is reasonably priced for the work put in. Still i think its just wrong to put 100-200$ in a 2 feet drain line.
IMO BW could supply a kit with AN10 or AN12 drain fittings that actually clear the ex housing to be bought separately. They could produce it in large quantities and sell it for a good price.
