    Best Tires Value - OEM 2003 E39 540i M Sport

My Bridgestone RE760's are coming to an end.
Fronts need replaced immediately and the rears have 5k more.

Most likely will replace all with new this month.
Although, considered locating duplicate fronts, but will be in the same situation when rears go in less than 1 yr.

I live in SoCal, and luckily only drive <8k/yr.
Never in snow, or drive too aggressively. Although, I like to have some fun at times.

Looks like the Michelin PS/AS3 are an all around decent tire for my application.

    Suggestions?

Why even consider an all season tire? Go to www.tirerack.com to see what fits the car. Then read the reviews and the results of testing. I buy only 2 brands of tires: Michelin and Bridgestone. You get what you pay for.

I have the same car and will be replacing my tires and rims soon. I have similar weather as you and my first choice is to duplicate what I had on my e38, which were the Continental DWS06 (on 20s). I was really pleased with the handling, the quietness, and the wear. I got almost 65k (before selling car) on them and the wear wasn't even showing on the inner rears. BUT.... I do run more air in my tires than most people I think. I tend to always run about 7psi less than max.

I've got DWS06es on my e38. Had Mich PSS on my e39. The contis are a little softer than I would like but its ok for a cruiser. The Mich AS3s are a better tire for everything but snow and thats what I got for my cold weather set on the M3. If you think you'll have a chance of running somewhere with light snow on a road trip, DWS06. But realistically if you are in socal, can you get summer tires? Mich PSS / PS4 is the way to go.

Agree with the statement - you get what you pay for. I would suggest to check tire tests, for instance, Maxxis tires last few years shows good results and they cost as a middle class tire brand: test results - Maxxis Premitra HP5.

I wear Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres on my BMW

The AS3+ is the best handling all season tire we tested. They are on the high side for price though. If you are looking for comparable performance look at the Conti DWS or the Pirelli P Zero AS+.
If I can help let me know.
