Probably getting nervous that his advantage in the MB is waning, "GOAT" can't win in second fastest car.

He's held multiple talks with John Elkann, the big boss at Ferrari. After he surpasses Schumi next year and becomes the ultimate GOAT, and if MERC decides to leave the sport after next year, then yes, he will join Ferrari.

It's too bad they can't do a Vettel for Hamilton swap this year. That would really prove if its the driver or the car.

Hasn't Hamilton said in the past that he has no desire to drive for Ferrari? I don't know if he actually said it, or if he was toeing the company line, etc.. But I would love to see what he could do in a Ferrari.

I don't think Vettel can get it done in the current MB. I think VER or HAM would smoke him over a season. He's proven he needs really dominant machinery to delivery a WDC.

Nice thought but the cars will be different, so......
With these two it comes down to the car.

Honestly, is it even really in doubt who the better driver is between Vettel and Hamilton?

I suspect he'll be out of Ferrari after this year, with Leclerc signing a 5 year deal they've made it pretty clear that he's their future, so Vettel has to be on notice now that he's very quickly approaching #2 status (if not already).

I guess if you completely ignore 2010 and 2012...
