Hey all, so I installed the rogue engineering shifter arm and lever, a full bushing refresh and UUC DSSR last week.
Since the install the shifter position has moved to the right far more than what is acceptable. Basically the lever sits in first, where it used to sit for 3rd. So my question here is what route I should take to fix it.
A) bend the shift lever to sit in position. Of course, not ideal
B) twist the UUC dssr to align the shift lever to where it should be. Also not ideal, and probably not easy
C) go back to the stock selector rod
D) go back to stock
The other question is did ECS send me the wrong DSSR? UUC has 4 types listed. Stock, pre evo 3 shifter, evo 3 shifter, all other short shift kits. Its pretty clear that this isn't built with the proper angles for this application. If its the wrong part, then that's one thing, but if this is what it's supposed to fit, well.......

Yeah I do know its definitely an e36 part. The length is correct. In order to sit properly it seems like it would need about a 10 degree bend to sit closer to the passenger side, and about a 10 degree twist counter clockwise at the rear notch.
After doing some more reading, seems like the Rogue lever design is the issue. I guess that was a big waste of time and money. Is replacing the shift lever an option?

Ugh. Lots of conflicting info about what the design issue is. Of course in any thread I can find about it UUC says it’s a rogue design issue but others say they have the issue with other shifters.
I just want to make sure the next time I take everything apart it’s the last time for a while. I’m thinking a jack handle and a bench vice is going to be the solution for the shift lever. Then I avoid buying new parts at least.
For a 5 speed? The shift carrier should be the same. I’ll go look at the UUC evo 3 ssk I’ve got in the garage. It worked flawlessly for years before I put the 6 speed in. (Using a Rogue euro 6 speed ssk)
No matter where you go, there you are...
If you guys have an accurate length measurement/angle I can make you guys a Dssr that works.

Dumb question based on your picture...Are you noticing this with the transmission not bolted up to the chassis? Shift position may change for the better when the trans is bolted back into place.
I'd hope you'd expect better from me.
I'm not really looking for info to figure out the issue anymore though. It's a completely different design for the shift lever than the newer rogue, UUC, or OE lever. This design was fixed with a different selector rod (which doesn't exist anymore.)
Lesson learned. Don't buy used parts. I'll be swapping in a z3 lever and tossing this one in the trash.
Glad you got it sorted.
