So im trying to pull the trigger on a 2014. 750li or 740li m sport. I know about the common cv joint and stem seal failures on at least the 750li. Ive read there were alot of engine fixes in 2013 for the N63 to N63TU engine upgrade.
But were the stem seal issue ever recalled or fixed with the N63 TU? If not are there aftermarket seals that can be installed to correct this?
Was the weak CV joints ever fixed? If not are there aftermarket versions that correct this?
Valve stem seals common, had to believe but true, poor designs. I have not hear of anything about cv problems
I've never seen a single CV joint problem. And the valve stem seals are an issue in every BMW V8 engine since the N62. The N63TU isn't any better than the N63. Not that I've seen anyway.

None that I have ever seen or heard of.

The N63TU is a better motor, but it's far from perfect. I honestly wouldn't buy one at all. But that's just me. I've done valve stem seals as early as 70-80k. But I've seen cars over 100k that don't burn much oil at all.
The valve stem seals aren't the only issues with the engines. They like to leak oil, and every spot they leak from is thousands of dollars to repair.

Man I sound terrible, like I'm steering you away from a BMW at all. It's not that bad. Get one with a TU motor, preferably under CPO warranty. They are awesome cars. I just get biased sometimes because all I see are the broken ones.

They are awesome cars. I hate it when they break, if you don't know what you are doing can cost alot to fix. Very difficult to trouble shoot for an average person with some car knowledge. I am trying to figure mine out and there is new learning everyday.
