750li wood trim swap and wood wheel

Hello. Im new to the forum. Im deciding on what 7 series to buy. I like the 2014 750li and read that the motors issues were worked out after 2013. But I love the red cherry colored wood trim . i think its called Myrtle burlwoid but seems to only have been an option for the Alpina B7.

Does anyone one a work around or if the B7 wood trim will be a direct replacement for the 750li?

Also is there any custom shops that can modify the steering wheel for wood?

Same questions for the 2014 740li and above?

As long as the wheel base is the same SWB (short) or LWB (long)...the interior trim is the same. You can't use the SWB model's trim (between the B & C pillars) on the LWB models because that's were the extra length resides. Other than that...the rest of the trim's fitment is the same.

You can easily look up the correct 11 digit BMW part nbr for the trim (and Alpina trim) using one of the online part database sites like:
    1. www.realoem.com
    2. www.bmwfans.info
    3. https://bimmercat.com

In regards to a wooden steering wheel...I have no clue.

I'm not sure what you may be asking. As previously mentioned, if you want to do a swap...then YOU need to make sure that you are swapping between models that have the same wheel base length (short or long).

If memory serves me correct (sometimes it doesn't)...I thought the Alpina B7 could be had in both short & long wheel base lengths. So if you have a 740Li (LWB)...then you'll need to make sure that the B7 is also LWB. If it's not...then all the trim will fit EXCEPT the trims between the B & C pillars...they will be too short since the rear doors of the LWB are longer.

You can use the links given in post #3 and utilize the online part databases to pull up the diagrams for the Alpina B7 and the BMW 740Li...and you'll see that the diagrams are the same design. The material may be different but the lengths and fitments are the same EXCEPT if the cars have different wheel base lengths...and if they do, then its only the trim between the B & C pillars that are different.
