Soooo where to start.. I purchased this car (97 bmw 328i 4dr 2.8l) had burnt harness and dme harness was replaced so was dme not by me this was prior to my puchase but i know the guys so the work is legit and i ran over whole engine harness for 2 days. Apparently when he bought the dme the company said it was programmed and ready to go. So crank no start he is done with the car so i buy it and verify im getting the proper power and ground ALMOST everywhere fuel pump kicks on primes system, fuel inj have power but no pulse, coils have constant 12v but no signal and have 209 code CEL will come on along with all other lights tach does not jump when trying to crank hooked up scan tool didnt throw crank code but also wasnt getting crank signal i can unlock and lock all my doors via switch and key and windows work relays are all proper switch position and amperage all relays also new OEM parts as well as some fuses. I have old dme was wondering if i can unsolder chip and re solder in new dme to not marry it to ews i have replaced internal chips like this before but never on automotive. Old dme will not shiw CEL. Pulling my hair out at this point and only 5 days in. Anyyy help is very much appreciated. I also have 2 keys tryed both
