E36 320i Turbo MAF trouble

Hi guys,

I'm turboing my E36 and I've stumbled up on a little MAF problem.. I've bought myself a 540i MAF which should be kinda plug and play, at least thats my understanding. There were some plastic guiding things inside the connect which weren't the same as the 320i MAF ones so I got rid of them with a Dremel. Now I thought it would just fit on my 320i MAF connector but it still won't fit

Anyone any idea why it won't fit? I've measured the 4 pins inside which seem to have the same distance as my original MAF has.

not sure but you can use jumper pin sockets to make the connection if they are the right fit
