Yet another instrument cluster wiring question.

Ok, yes, I have searched through all the forum material. Yes, I've looked at my Bentley (often useless for M5) and shop manuals. Unfortunately, these questions are answered but most of the diagrams they reference are long gone because image sites die.

I have an E28 M5 project car. Pulled the cluster to replace the dash. Dash is back in. everything else is almost in. Now I have a couple of extra wires with edge connectors and 2 extra bulbs. I know that one wire is the Cruise control and that has three wires on it (blue/yellow, blue/yellow, blue/grey) and is on the left. The other two wires are BOTH solid brown with blue plugs. The cluster has 3 edge connector slots, tagged Grun, Blau and Weiss. OK, one is CC/Tach But the other two? No idea. There was not enough clearance behind the cluster for me to get a useful image before disconnecting things. Anybody out there with an '88 with a stick that can tell me which wires go where?

Then there are the bulbs. I am not in a position to test dash lights because other things going on require the battery to be disconnected. There are 3 empty idiot light holes at the bottom of the instrument panel, 2 of which might apply. One is Anti-lock and the other is Check Engine. Any idea which bulb goes where? I can't really decipher the wire codes (one light is grey and green/white and the other is green and red/grey).

Now, the REALLY funny thing is that I have another pristine E28 M5. I always try to keep a puzzle box cover for my puzzles as a reference....saves a LOT of time. But if I pull the cluster from THAT car to see where the wires go and something disconnects while I'm trying to pull it, I'm screwed.

    Suggestions?

Hello all, Since I didn't get any answer on this, I went ahead and pulled the wheel off and cluster out of my other M5. It looks like that car has had the cluster pulled before, but almost everything was hooked up.

    Here is what I saw.
The edge connector with multiple wires goes in the left-most edge on the cluster.
A blue/white wire not visible above connects to the middle edge connector.
The green and red/grey light inserts into the open light socket toward the passenger side of th ecluster.

I will test later to see which of the two brown-wire edge connectors should be connected. (That might be the odometer?...) I also still have a bulb that probably goes elsewhere.
