Help with my first BMW purchaser

Hello everyone, I am looking to join all of you guys/gals by buying a BMW. I am currently looking at the 2016 BMW 328i ones. I have few a questions if ya do not mind. I'm new to forum.

1. I was thinking about getting a 2016 BMW 328i with around 30k miles for about $20,000 to $25,000. Is this reasonable? Or can I do better?

2. Although I'm looking at the 328i, are the 320i's a good alternative? I'm aware the 320i has a lesser engine, but is the interior on the 320i lesser as well?

3. When it comes to maintenance, what kind of issues should I expect? This way I can make sure the issue can be covered by the warranty.

4. Is the interior on the 328i great by high standards? I looked at a 2017 Audi A4 premium and I like the 2016 BMW 328 interior better.

It doesn't have to be only these two. Any help/recommendations/thoughts for my first BMW is greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Hi and welcome to the forums. I'll answer your questions one by one.

1) Yes that is reasonable.

2) 320i is a fine alternative if you can handle the lower hp/tq. It is not a "slow" car. You may have to search harder for a 320i with nice options vs. 328i which comes with some standard.

3) I haven't been in the F3x game for long so I can't really say. I have seen some people have great experiences and others not so much. You're already ahead of the game by looking for a 2016 or newer as they do not seem to suffer from the timing chain issues.

4) When you say "great" what do you mean. It's all about what you prefer, it varies from person to person.

If you aren't set on having a sedan, have a look at the 4 series they come as a two and four door "coupe", and come standard with some niceties like Xenon headlamps whereas many 320 and 328 come with old fashioned halogen headlights.
