2012 f25 navigation button but won’t bring up on screen?

I’m looking at buying this car but my question, is there a module or something that might be missing? The buttons and everything else is there but it simply does nothing.

Looking at it from a dealer he said that’s how he got it and said will look into it but I would like to know if it’s a possible fault or just missing something or he tried to remove something for another car and hopes no one would notice.

If it’s a fault I’m likely going to steer away from it. If it’s a missing module and he puts one in I’m fine with it. If I feel like he was trying to be crafty I’m gonna extra bottom line him for fun.

Does the nav work using the menu or with voice command? Do all the other buttons near the nav button work?

Are you sure it has Nav in the car? I was looking at used f25 s and found one that did not actually have Nav, but the console would make you believe it did. The dash screen is very small compared to the Nav version. The sales description mentioned it had Nav, but the VIN buildsheet showed it didn't. The car was not a BMW dealership, so they may have not known what they were selling.

Best way to tell is decode you vin. But if you have the smaller size display you do NOT have nav. You will have the same type of I drive controls but will be missing the nav function.
