S54 Oil Clearances
Folks - got some questions for you. I've bought King Racing XP Series bearings for both the rods and main line for my S54 block. I'm using Molnar H-Beam 4340 Billet Rods w/ ARP bolts. The engine will be NA upon rebuild, but down the road will apply Vortech VF-1 supercharger w/ no more than 9 PSI boost applied (around 6-7 PSI initial).
- What oil clearances are recommended for a modified NA setup to light boost down the road?
- What would be the piston to wall clearance recommended for this setup? I'm replacing the OE pistons with JE Pro Seal 11.5:1 CR 87.5mm oversized FSR pistons w/ the rings included, if this matters. The cylinders have been bored to 87.5mm, and will be honed using a torque plate to prevent out of roundness, hopefully with plateau brushing to prevent having to break in the cylinders with the piston rings.
My machinist was referencing to the documentation included in the boxing for the pistons, and the rod / main line bearings, but wanted me to double check with folks already running a similar setup. Thanks!
