Thanks for the replies to my first post earlier.
I'm getting ready to replace the shocks and struts as the last project of the year. Is there a general consensus of what the original ones should be replaced with. I don't race the car and just interested in getting it back to normal road driving. I saw Sensen and I think Bilstein. Are there any others out there that most people really like? Thanks again for the replies.

I have never been a fan of Bilsteins in z3's, especially paired to H&R springs. I've always favored Koni's, but in our cars, you have to cut the original strut housings and insert the koni insert which is more work.
Many people here go with coilovers, but those come at a much higher cost.
I think Koni makes full front struts for non-M. I did the inserts for the M. It isn’t too hard.
I read a bit on this site before choosing Konis, inserts front and shocks rear. I think they are perfect. Here's some reading for you
