Thanks for your response, but that chart is for a 17 pin round c101
I don't have it here with me at work, but
Green Violet is fuel pump
Black yellow is starter
Blue is the alternator
Looking at the diagram Dschart sent, just use the colors, BMW is great at using same colors for same circuits over the years, especially in old school cars
Thanks for your response! I have them all connected the way you just mentioned, and the fuel pump isn't getting power. I traced the wire back to the pump as well.. definitely green violet. The two main relays are in place and test good. Is there another fuel injection relay I should check? If so where is it? Thanks!!
On the fuel pump relay , jumper the red wire to the green violet wire. Pump should run. The fuel pump relay is activated by the main aka ecu relay. The ecu relay is activated by the crank sensor aka flywheel sensor. The flywheel sensor ( there are 2 , don't swap them or that will create a problem ) triggers the main relay which triggers the fuel pump relay. The OBC anti theft circuit can also prevent starting. Do you have a noid light aka fuel injection test light ? If so, plug it in and see if the injectors are firing. If not, you can usually get one from NAPA
Make sure the grounds are secured, under the intake manifold
I'm running a e34 m1.3 harness, so I only have one trigger off the harmonic balancer, correct? I don't see nay grounds from the harness under the manifold?
ah, wasn't thinking the M1.3 harness. It's been over 10 years since I did the one I did. Yes 1 trigger on the front.. I still think the OBC antitheft is the problem. Google how to bypass it..
Will the car start when you jumper the fuel pump relay ?
Noid light access ?
I haven't tried jumping anything.. everything is showing power from the fuse box, except blue, and green violet. The idle control valve is humming directionals, horn, windows.. yada yada all working
spark ?
She lives! I changed the main ground and I think that did it! I still need a pinout.. there's a brn/wht wire not connected to anything that has power. After I have this all sorted I will post the exact diagram
Brn/wht goes to the coolant temp gauge sending unit

Just 82 up, sorry.

That early ETM is hard to find, it wasn't put into a PDF AFAIK. I have like three pages of an '80 E24 ETM here:

Sorry for the nearly useless file, but I figured any early E24 wiring info is worthwhile to share.
Save the manuals!

Thanks so much for all of your help! My car is running ans once I have it sorted 100% I'll post a 12 pin square c101 wire diagram
I’d love to see a pinout when you’re done. I wired mine up with e34 harness and management this summer and ended up getting the etm from an early factory manual and building a jumper to go to the e34 harness. I tested mine all good but haven’t gotten the engine together yet.
