Window Regulator

I posted previously about changing out the drivers door regulator The window is stuck not quite half way down making it impossible to get the bolts attaching it. Any way of moving the glass ? I cant go any further without somehow lowering the window. Any help??

Cut the cables on the window regulator.

The real question is are you sure it's the window regulator and not the motor? I've done tons of window motors on E65/66 vehicles. Probably as many, if not more, than regulators. Does the motor run? Does the regulator making grinding and crackling noises as it tries to go up and down?

No,motor does not run anymore and when it did yes,crackling grinding.

Ok. Hopefully the problem is the regulator only. Cut the cables with a pair of dykes and slide the glass up and down to get to the screws.
