New 2020 M2C - no heat shield under hood?

Took delivery a week ago and just noticed missing heat shield under hood. Assuming BMW didn’t cut costs/weight here. I already made contact w the dealer but wanted to also check with this group.

Picture of mine when I took Euro Delivery at the Welt 2 weeks ago. Looks like it too does not have a heat shield - hopefully someone else can chime in as well.

My 2008 328xi had a heat shield but my 2012 335ix doesn't have one. My 2015 M235ix has it. I wonder what the ctiteria is for removing it.

Heat shields are to prevent the movement of heat...which direction might the Bavarian elves want the heat to move from under the hood?
We might also be talking about a noise shield, and perhaps they figured we motorheads would rather hear the 6 carry on.
Dan

none on my 2021, it's a performance car, they save weight wherever they can.
