This rare 2003 BMW 540i M-Sport 6 speed is finished in Schwarz 2 black over black leather. I am the third owner and the car has 146k miles with excellent service records dating to 2005 that will come with the car. This E39 comes with the complete service file from 2005 and a clean California title in my name.
Power comes from the 4.4-liter M62 V8 with a six-speed manual transmission. Being a genuine 2003 M-Tech model, this car features the more aggressive M sport suspension II, M5 style body, and staggered M-Parallel alloy 18" wheels. It also has the 3-spoke steering wheel, shadowline trim, and many other details. Modifications include a stage 1 Dinan tune and E60 shift linkage with a genuine ZHP shift knob. The car was also installed with a Lo-Jack system in 2006.
Asking $12,900 OBO. UPDATE, SOLD - thanks all!

Here are the things I've done since I bought the car in mid-2018: The car only came with one key when I bought it, so I had a second key ordered from the factory. I also had the airbag recall performed at the same time. I have since put in new Lloyd ultimat carpets (very nice!), a new shift lever to replace the old one whose ball joint had worn. I ordered a ZHP style weighted leather shift knob at the same time. I replaced the trunk gas shocks and trunk release. Of course, I've been performing regular maintenance, too. That includes oil changes every 3k miles using Motul 0w-40 & BMW filters. It also has new air filters for the intake and the two for the cabin. I also replaced the lower timing chain tensioner to keep the guides happy. The higher ticket items include new water pump, deflector pulley, thermostat, upper & lower radiator hoses, and liquid-cooled alternator. Of course, I had the system flushed & replace with BMW blue coolant, too. The previous owner replaced the valley pan, x-member coolant pipe, expansion tank, and bleed screw just before I bought the car. They also did the A/C & main serpentine belts and had the sunroof guides repaired. Just this September, I replaced the front brakes & pads using stoptech pads & centric rotors. The tires still have plenty of life and I'll include two spares with the car.
Things that the car will need in the future are: The outer windshield seal is drying out. They can be replaced from the outside for about $80 in parts. It's developing an oil leak at the valve cover gaskets. My mechanic said they are okay for now, but will need doing in the future. The driver seat "twist" has been fixed, but the passenger seat twist has not. Since I was commuting alone (and the passenger seat is in a good position as it sits), I never got around to fixing it.

I do not see that the timing chain guides included on your list of maintenance - can I assume that they haven't been done?
Hey TucciRW,
The timing chains are still original to the car. I had the pan scoped before I bought the car and there was no evidence of plastic. I also sent in an oil sample to Blackstone labs earlier this year. They indicated no evidence of plastic, and regular iron/aluminum levels which indicates that the guides are still in good shape. I will include this report with the car, too. It's always hard to say how long the guides last - but all signs point to this engine being in good shape for a while.
