I picked up a spare dme for a 2001 330, should it work ok on a 2003 3.0 Z4 motor.,I've been chasing a random misfire problem.
If the Z4 uses the MS45 dme, then no. Not a simple swap.
Random misfires are generally not from dme.

So which exact DME and flash version are you using to run it?

no go on the 2001 330 dme, they're both ms43's , but the long id numbers are a little different?,todays road test was encouraging, no misfiring in a 80 mile trip,it seems like if I let it idle for a bit, the misfire will start, I held the idle up all day and no problem, including 4 autocross runs.l
only 3 and 4 always? Could be warped head.
