BMW E39 Aux adapter issues

Hey guys,

I have a 2003 530i with both Nav and CD Changer. I bought adapter P/N 82110149391 which claims to be for a E39 after 7/2002 or something which mine is a 02/2003. Removed the screen in the front, found a loose three pin wire as per the installation instructions and plugged everything in. When I cycle through the modes I still only get Radio, CD Changer, and Tape. I accessed the headunit in the left rear of the car and found a white connector in the main connector with the same three wires from the loose connector behind the screen. Someone suggested that the aux input needs to be swapped with the CD Changer. But wiring diagrams have been no help to what actually needs to be removed and or swapped.

I have this issue as well. However initially the aux worked for a few days when I installed this part (April 2015). Then I went on a 750 mile road trip and it did not work. I got home and it worked for 4.5 years. Then it stopped working again last fall. The battery died on me and it worked again briefly and has now stopped again. It’s a ghost in the machine. Any thought or ideas?
