WTB Plastic cover that sits in front of cylinder heads

    EDIT:
I have cup holders, courtesy of Alex840, and have 903 caps with ENGL adapters.
Still waiting on news of the elusive plastic cover however

I'm looking for a few parts, some are back ordered, some are NLA. I haven’t been able to find anywhere to buy them new.

    11121723620 - plastic cylinder head cover (v12)

61131383901 x2 - protection caps, cover headlight wiring harness plugs. Or if someone knows of a substitute, please let me know.

51168118774 x2 - Lower glove box cup holders (#24 in image), (or lower glove box cover with cup holders, any color)

Did you try the Dealers? I got a new plastic cover from Gault a couple of years ago.

The larger protection caps are available. The smaller caps are NLA. ENGL in Germany makes an adapter that goes inside the cap so you can use the larger cap on the smaller housing.

Schmiedmann took my order, but couldn’t get hold of one, and ecs tuning and fcp euro are showing back ordered.
I haven’t tried my local dealer.

A used one that’s in one piece and would clean up is all I really need at this point

If it’s any consolation, those cup holders are more of a liability than anything.
Just this morning I flipped one open and it detached from the glove box lid. No way will I EVER put a beverage in one of those things.

I'm not sure how long these have been available, but Thomas Engl has made a solution to the NLA small protection caps,
    http://www.engl-production.de/schw-kabel-kappe.html

Looks like a 61131383903 with an adapter ring, which is a neat solution. I just ordered two

I believe I have a NOS plastic cylinder head cover (v12) if you are still in need. Bought about 3 yrs ago.

I had seen this before but I was just now looking for these and found his website but not speaking german I couldn't find it. I then just saw your post. I need two also. How did you place the order? I can't find where to do that on the website. Also, did the price include the 903 cap? Thanks, Eric

Eric, I PMed you how I ordered parts. It's a little time consuming, but easy enough with use of Google translate, and the ability to complete an overseas wire transfer.
There are a great many parts he has available that are not obtainable elsewhere. I'm assuming that the 903 cap is included.

The only other possible option is that after I visited 8er.org this weekend for the first time, it looks like one of the members there may be prototyping a 3D printed copy of the 901 cap - whether that ever becomes available is another question. I chose to go for the guaranteed solution that I can order right now.

I placed an order and although in German I was able to get it done. Just received them today. Looks good and would be hard to tell they're not original. Much better than bare wires. Thanks for the help.

I got mine in the mail yesterday too. Definitely the best option available right now.

Pusches parts has a few more tricky to find items. Seems to be the only place to buy seat cables now, he has really nice ftp covers, and some people may be interested in his center vent reproduction.

Not sure if you installed them yet but I had trouble fitting the ring on the connector initially and while struggling with it I dropped it. Not fun, had to remove headlight and air box to see it. I almost had it then it dropped further down. Finally got it out from behind the wheel well liner LOL. I ended up trimming a slight amount on the gap in the rings and it made the install easier. Looks good.

I hadn’t installed yet. My headlights are out for a clean, led install, and adjuster fix.

Looks good! Unless you know what to look for you would be unable to tell.

    Has anyone tried this?

    https://www.extra-classics.de/Abdeckkappe-Scheinwerfer-Stecker-61131383901-BMW-E31-E36/EC53018

It is a reproduction and shipping (outside of the EU) would be a bit of a hassle.

The E31 Chapter did a bulk by from him. He is great to deal with, and his caps work well. He also has several other things that are 3-D printed. I also have his ash tray insert which changes the tray to a charging station and voltage monitor. There is also a write-up in a past edition of the E31 NEWS newsletter.
