    Tire recommendation please

Just bought 2015 M5 in Florida

    Amazing car

Currently equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S, great tire

Now I have to take the car home in SC where it occasionally gets cold, often below 40F

I have read where these tires must be warmed to 40F before driving in the cold, else you get compound cracks, especially in the sidewall

    1- is this true

2- since I have to buy tires anyway, what is a recommended all season tire; I do not want to install a winter tire, not needed in SC

Thanks in advance for your adivce
    Thanks,
    WEC

Just FYI, posting the same thread in multiple sub-forums is against the rules. Maybe a moderator can delete some of the excess threads.

Indeed. OP, four posts with the same question is a bit excessive, particularly when it's in the same discussion area.

You'll get answers to the remaining posts.

Most M cars I've seen come into work still have the OEM Michelin, Conti, or Pirelli tires. I've never heard much about the cracking issue in cold weather. And I've never noticed it on cars at work, but maybe I'm not looking close enough.

GM has issued stern warnings regarding their Michelin tires

If everyone posted four copies of their question, the sub-forums would be a mess of duplicated topics that few would care about except the one posting. This is why duplicating posts is a RULES violation. I understand the thinking on doing so, but the practice is not healthy for a public forum.

Personally, I'd get a set of Michelin Sport Cup 2 mounted and drive.
