    Lowest mileage E32 I've seen

BAT is getting some good bids for this one. A little to hopped up for me. Dinan chip, Fancy exhaust, Alpina spoiler, and 19 inch wheels (which I personally think ruins this car), but that's just me. Seller wanted 15 grand. Reserve not met, but it did get a bid of 13,500. Not bad. Posting it here so you guys could see some pictures. I love looking at low mileage E32 pictures. Enjoy. Oh, the one thing that bothered me was that a new head gasket was installed during it's last service. Why would that be necessary at 30,000 miles? Interesting comments to read as well. I just past 181000 and that problem never came about.

I was watching that one too. It's surprising that BaT let the seller set such a high reserve. 15k USD reserve for a non-M70 non-Alpina automatic E32 with a few mods, that's stretching what the market will bear IMO. 12k would have been more realistic, as is shown by what people were actually willing to pay.

Two Alpina B11's were sold for 15k on BaT. Higher mileage yes, but at least you get something special.

Regular 735's aren't that collectible, yet.

Edit: actually only one sold for 15k, the other didn't meet the reserve.

I never trust a low mileage car with a blown head gasket, a replaced hood, a talked about bit of door damage that the seller had no idea about, and I especially do not like E32's with no badges on either side of the trunk. The only thing I love about this car is the 36000 mile odometer. I had 36000 miles on my car in 1993. I remember those days.

I'm considering one of the lowest mileage E32s I've ever seen. `90 735i w/ 38K mi. Orig. owner, garaged.... waiting to see more pics from owner. No records, heavy-sagging headliner, orig. radio needs servicing, bumper trim all around needs replacing, no rust, few dings.

Sounds like a lot of high-mileage issues on an unusually low mileage car.
It would be good to see if a carfax report corroborates the mileage. No records from 29 years of ownership is highly suspicious.

At 38k miles the bumper trim should be perfect. My car has 90k and it's nearly perfect.

Yep. I agree. A woman owned it. Her nephew is selling it. Woman usually don't keep records - granted you'd think the husband would. The odometer pic does show 38,518 mi. Sometimes good photos corroborate the mileage. Especially items like the seats - driver's especially. Just the same, I looked at a `88 735i a few months back, with 73K and it was a mess. Lots of scuffs, scratches, neglect etc. The owner was stunned at my E34 with 183K - granted most of it has been painted since new.... but most importantly I care for it and am very careful with it. Oh and I never drive with the windows or sunroof open due to the 9x12" headliner sag in rear corner which has only slightly spread since 2008. So many love the open air - not good for headliners or keeping your interior clean.

This Highline I found in 2003, pics see : Top of the line: 750iL Highline http://bmwe32.masscom.net/other/gallery.html That was showroom condition, 11/1991 built, original 10.916 km. Non-Smoker car, 1 owner, then in 2003 the price was Yen 2.5 Mio. = abt.$ 20.000,-- plus consumtion tax then 5% (now 10%) . All inspection documents included, the owner had several cars and used the Highline only on special occassions. Was offered in a showroom in Tokyo of a used Italian luxury sports car dealer. I kept the VIN: VIN WBAGC81-060DC58163 .In 2006 I was contacted by someone in Canada and he wanted to know how to covert the japanese radio frequency and the number he gave me was surprisingly the same VIN WBAGC81-060DC58163. He told me he bought it in an *bay auction from a dealer in Japan.

That Highline is very nice. Never seen one in person.

Well, people like me who don't have a functioning air conditioner have no choice. Maybe I'll manage to start my headliner project this winter, the material has been sitting here for a while.

If you're interested in a high mileage car, click >here< and scroll down until you find pictures. That car has been driven more than one million miles, and it has tons of documentation about repairs done by a BMW dealer incl. engine and transmission replacements. I believe it's for sale at the moment.

Yep, in that case one needs to ventilate the car to stay sane and alive.

Interesting 750i. Not what we see in the states. It has similar mileage to my E34 too. 1988 with early ASC (green illuminated button). Buffalo interior too. Interesting color exterior. If only my German was a little better, I'd join that forum too.

This is the lowest mileage E32 750iL I've seen. Just gorgeous. The 735i I'm considering is the same color combo. http://www.mcsmk8.com/88-750IL/750IL.html

Not even close. The car does have more than one million miles. The odometer stopped at 300,000 because it's a grey cluster. Which is a bit weird since the metric ones are said to stop at 299,960 km. The driver kept a log book.

I've seen these pictures before. This car is absolutely stunning. But what can you do with it besides preserving it in a museum?

One million miles! Whoa. That's crazy. Was the motor replaced? Trans?

I have found that the low mileage cars are not driven very frequently. These cars perform better when driven consistently, so be cautious. Any Nikasil issues with an M60 that supposedly has only 38k on it?

By now most say the Nikasil issues should not be an issue. But I see what you are saying.... what if a 530/540/740 was driven only 100 miles a year since 1996 or so.... would a car like that have more a more prevalent effected engine, and cause more havoc for the new owner now?

Saw more pics of the 735i in consideration with 38K mi. So many things need addressing to be up to the level of my 183K mi. car.... Headliner, front-end labor, bumpers, paint (2 panels and rear bumper), trim, cosmetic issues, LF fender panel not aligned with hood, wheel refinishing, radio needs servicing... I figure about $5,000-6,000 to address these things. A shame there is zero service history or manuals. Granted it has no rust and the paint is shiny, most the interior looks very nice, but the exterior just wasn't cared for like it should have been.... parking and storage was not done with caution at all. A shame for such a low mileage car. Makes me wonder how it was cared for mechanically. Seller wanted $7000. Sounds like he would consider an offer under $5K, but even at $3K I have so many reservations.
