2013 X3 Bluetooth issues

Hey everyone. Just bought a 2013 X3 for my wife and I can't seem to keep our phones connected. I can connect them one at a time but the car keeps forgetting them. It's my first BMW but I've been around them enough to get the basics, and I don't think it should forget my phone every time I turn the car off. Is that something others have experienced or is there something I can do to get this to work?

I appreciate any input. I'd really like to get this working.

Bryan, it could happen if the back up batteries under the cover of the BT Module in the rear left are flat and your car battery is disconnected from the module when the car goes to sleep, you can unplug the back up battery pack which consists of 4 AAA size rechargeables and maesure there voltage. The pack should measure at the connector between 4.8 and 5 volts DC. Mine actually measured 5.5VDC, if the car was sitting for a long time say a week or more I can see it measuring a lot lower, all the way to flat I guess depending on the down time of the car. I assume everything would be OK down to say 3 or 4VDC, below 3 would be start to allow thing to be forgotten, somewhere along the way BMW have gone from Non Volitile to Volitile memory in the BT module by the look of it. Anyway good luck with your hunt to fix your problem....I have a different issue in my 2014 X3. Regards Ron
