I have an S52 engine for sale. This was in our E36 race car. The motor is mostly stock but with a VAC head with beefed up valvetrain. Selling because we are swapping in an S54.
Selling complete with wiring, ECU with aftermarket tune, very nice stainless header etc. It made 250 rwhp a couple years ago last time it was on the dyno. Recent cold compression test is 185, 200, 175, 180, 200, 150. Warmed up the 150 cylinder was 165. This indicates it probably could use a freshening. I ran a 1:56 at Chuckwalla couple of months ago with this engine, so it still runs well.
Based on what a stock longblock seems to go for on ebay, I'm asking $3200.
Engine is located in Tucson, AZ. Please email me - claykos AT gmail.com
Here is a video of a cold start after the engine had not been started for a about 2 months.

Price is negotiable. Thought it was sold but fell through. Just to be perfectly clear: The engine is running well, does not smoke, burn oil or overheat, but it has a lot of race miles and is showing less than ideal compression so I recommend a refresh. The engine has a built head, flashed ECU and very nice stainless header. It is a better starting point for a track car than a 150k+ mile street motor that also needs to be freshened.
want to sell the headers separately?
Asking price is in the ad. $3200 obo. Shoot me an email if you want to make an offer claykos AT gmail DOT com. I don't check this forum very often. I would need to get a freight quote if you want it. Don't know about customs etc. It was going to be about $350 to ship it to the north eastern US.
