I had a PPI done once I purchased it (post-purchase inspection).
The BMW specialists (indy, paid for a several hour review) found nothing worthy of immediate attention, but made suggestions for future maintenance. They noted that there was no evidence that the VANOS or guides needing attention.
I replaced the tensioner after about a year ownership. Super easy, great defensive maintenance item.

Congratulations! You'll miss it!
I will miss it and I will also say thank you to this community...you have all been great. That car deserved someone more diligent with the work it needed and I think the buyer is that person. I didn't get my original asking price, but I wasn't exactly trying to sell it. I took the approach that if someone would pay right around my asking price, they could have it.

I think my next E38 will be a barn find/garage queen...I really would love to have an original, lower mileage example. I might even consider a 750...that would be an interesting car.
