Front control arms - what to get?

Just ordered the 1996+M3 FLCAs from www.getbmwparts.com today, after trying back in June when they were “on backorder”

LOL!! Got email today indicating they are ‘on backorder’ with resupply date. Order Canceled.

Crossed my mind, but my Meyle HD arms on my Z3 Coupe (with offset bushings) have blue bits on the rubber. At least, that's what I recall. I'll take a gander next time I'm under there.

You appear to be correct - it seems the “Meyle package” is “sold out”.

I spoke to my local dealer today in the UK and his system says both left and right sides are due into BMW Germany central warehouse end of September (24th) it doesn't say quantity but presume it will be another batch.

When's the next batch of M rear trailing arms coming in? My old Roadstars would look great on my 2.8 Coupe, and rear M brakes too.

Nothing if you run fronts out back with some spacers. But that 17x9 ET8 deep dish out back...M trailing arms and all the peripherals.

There is no supply date at the moment so they may be waiting until they have enough orders placed before restocking .

Haha, you really want those deep-dish Roadstars on there, huh?

I want it all! I've had a set of 42s gathering dust for a while now, but the Conti AS tires are lasting a lot longer than I thought they would.

They're nice looking wheels, but you could go with a deep-dish Apex wheel and save a LOT of weight (4 or 5+ lbs per wheel, unsprung weight) which would be quite noticeable performance-wise... I noticed just a couple pounds difference on my Mini when I increased tire/wheel size. And you wouldn't have to bother with the short M axles and trailing arms, harder to find parts, etc. Just sayin'.

Just ordered the 1996+M3 FLCAs from www.getbmwparts.com yesterday, after trying to order them back in June when they were “on backorder”.
The site is no longer indicating “on backorder”.

LOL!!! Just received an email indicating they are ‘on backorder’ with no ETA on restock.

The Z3M and 1996+M3 represent a small portion of the overall 1992-2002 BMW 3 series population.
Z3M FLCAs ‘feature’ the revised 1996+M3 geometry that is used with Centered FLCABs
Z3M and 1996+M3 use the same FLCAs.

Why are you so sure about this? It's been well documented that BMW didn't have 96+ E36 M3 control arms available for a long time. Recently a handful of passenger side arms were made available, but I still don't think you can just go buy a pair even at a dealer. Non-M parts, sure. But not the M control arms.

Using offset bushings on the non-M control arms gives geometry like that of the OE M arm.
Then there is the issue of the rubber isolated outer BJ in the OE non-‘M’ FLCA.

Small portion? All of them but 1995 M3s in US.

Ha probably not for awhile, if ever. They've been NLA since I first got into Z3's (almost 10 years ago now) whereas the front control arms have come into stock a few times in that period.

He said of the 3 series population, not "M" population. There were a crap ton more non-M's made than M's, thus why there is still ample supply (and demand) for those parts. There are less and less E36 M3/Z3M enthusiasts by the day, and a lot of E36 M3's are turned into drift cars or track rats - negating the need for stock arms.

Don’t go there with the fronts all around, sir

    So;

    Trailing arms
    Trailing arm bushings
    Brakes
    Bearings
    Axles?

    Springs and shocks the same?

    Wheel speed sensor?

    Subframe the same?

    Overlooking anything?

I guess I could just lookup on realoem.com...

    Nada in 17’s.

Trailing arms and axles. That should be it.
