Advice Selling Non-Op Car in CA

    Hi All,

As some may know from my build thread, I crashed my M3 at Laguna Seca last month, damaging the frame enough to make it unrepairable. The car is now registered as Non-Op, and I have some people interested in buying it off me for the motor. My question is, has anyone done this before and are there any special steps or factors I should be considering? Eg: how does the title transfer work, just sign it over like a regular car (I read that since it is non-op it won't require a smog)?

You should be fine by selling it with a non-op registration. As long as you submit your release of liability to the CA DMV.
