Title kinda says it all.. my hood release cable was broken, so I replaced it. Now, when I pull the release handle, the little black handle in the grille pops out, but when I pull it, nothing happens. The drivers side is unlatched, but not the passenger side. Any thoughts on how to get around this issue?

Did you replace all the cables? Side note lube your hood latches regularly it should be an easy pull

......also you may need to change the other cables, and the latches at that. I'm in the same boat changed all 3 cables in my 02 745i, and now the passenger side doesn't unlock, actually both don't unlock. The driver side latch gets loose during driving, but the passenger side doesn't open with the hood release at all. I'm gonna change my latches this week and see what's up. The driver side latch wears out the cables as it's faulty, it then isn't allowing the cable to unlock the passenger side. Change all cables and all latches, may as well to eliminate all issues.....
