Cylender 5,6,7 and 8 shut down?

I have a 2008 M3 with 106,000 miles. I have started getting th eservice engine along with th eemergency engoine falure message. The codes that come up are multiple misfires on 5,6,7 and 8 . Then withe th eShut down of the same 4 cylenders. First few times I also got a code for th eE-box fan maulfunction. Well I replaced the E-box fan. I put in new spark plugs and chenged the coils from one side to the other. Now I no longer get the E-box fan code but I am still getting all th emisfires and shut down of half the engine (Cyl. 5,6,7,and 8) I am at a loss as to what to try next. Please ! Ideas?

If you are getting misfires on the same cylinders are swapping coils and new plugs, my next step would be a compression test.
