    Gesture Control Sensor

What sensor does BMW use to track the Gesture Control finger movements? Is it IR? Where is the sensor located?

I took my Valentine 1 out of one car to use it in our G30 for a road trip. It squawked "laser" from the moment I turned it on and stayed that way. What inside the cabin is making it do that?

I believe the sensor is in the overhead console, with the map lights, sunroof switch, etc.

Based on info from the newtis website...gesture control uses a camera located in the overhead console. But it also says that the LEDs in the overhead console are infrared...and these LEDs are there so that gestures can be made in the dark.
