How much more camber do you get going to a E46 LCAs? Is it a crazy amount like over 5?
Around 5. I dont recall the specific amount.
Status: Someone put glitter in my oil. Wait. Why's all my oil outside the engine? What's that knocking?
Every inch longer your control arms are adds approximately -2.1* of camber. E46 arms are a little over 1" longer than E36.
I have done the swap on the m3 and it sits at -5.5 right now. And that’s with my tops hats trying to eliminate the camber as much as possible.
This is some good news for me as I can turn the M3 top mounts the "correct" way and gain some castor. Also I'm about to order some polybushes and apparently it's possible to order to the correct E46 hex bushing saving me the trouble of grinding them to round shape. I'm actually thinking of ordering the offset bushing which adds more castor? or was it camber?
p.s I know I should just get some cheap adjustable plates but I already have the M3 Evo ones for free. Are the chinese top mounts any good? They are going really cheap on aliexpress.
You will gain around 2.3 degrees of negative camber. You can achieve around 5 degrees. Unless you can find 1 gen E46 arms I really think extending steel arms is the better route
