E83 Disable cold check high beams due LED bulbs with NCS Expert/Dummy

    Hi all,

I've installed LED dipped beams and high beams in my 2006 E83 X3 LCI. In order to get rid of the false light fault I've set KALTUEBERWACHUNG_AL to Nicht_aktiv for the dipped beams. Job done.

I wanted to do the same for the high beams and think I should be searching for KALTUEBERWACHUNG_FL. However I can't seem to locate that in my ALSZ (version LM2_E83.C02) trace file? Is that option not available?

I sounds a bit strange that I can disable it for the dipped beams but not for the high beams?

It might be a silly newbie question, but can you actually add that line to a TRC file? (don't laugh, just an honest thought )

Hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction here,

    Thanks!

Yeah unfortunately the X3's LM2 has almost no parameters defined. The function is almost certainly in there somewhere, but figuring out which bits to flip is easier said than done.

Thanks. Would it matter which version of LM2 is in there? Mine currently is the LM2_E83.C02 (partnumber ending at: 3 449 688, HW:07/SW:00 00 07). I've found a newer LM2 (partnumber ending at: 3 451 625, HW:11/SW:00 10 07). Considering the hardware and software versions are newer...?

Nope. The function is almost certainly there in your existing one. The issue is BMW did not define much for the E83 LM2s. It'd be tedious, but your only option really would be to experiment and see which bits control which lights.

Thanks for that, guess I've got a bit more of studying to do in that case.

    Cheers
