Question New Hella Xenon Lights Keep Flickering and Going Out

I changed out my old headlights to Hella Xenon headlights and have has issues since. They keep flickering and going out while driving and it is very frustrating. I have checked bulbs and they look fine, I have tried three different ballasts and they all give me the same issue. I have tried coding xenon in using NCS Expert and cannot find the option to turn them on. I modified my SA number to include $522 but I see no option still for xenon/bi-xenon. I really need help finding out what the issue is its been driving me insane for months. My previous headlights did not give me these problems.

You need to code the LCM asap.
The cold monitoring wil kill the xenons quickly (also you turning the headlights on and off repeatedly will kill xenons quickly).
Disconnect the xenons, code the LCM.

Edit: iirc, not all LCM's can do xenon lights. Perhaps you need a different LCM.

What do you mean by disconnect the xenons? Unplug the ballast or take out the bulbs?

Unplug the ballasts, what LCM does your car have, code your current LCM module properly, did it already have HID’s before, why were you turning the lights on and off ???

I installed these. You may need to do this: https://www.hidnation.com/collections/hid-accessories/products/hid-cancellers

I extended the leads so I could mount them in a convenient spot.

I just changed the bulbs since they were the only thing I haven't changed yet and the problem remained on the same side. So safe to say it is not the bulbs.

recode the LKM pronto. PASOFT works well for doing this, and with your year model, you have the xenon option. were the lights halogen previously?

My car is a '02 but when i bought it it had aftermarket work done to the headlights. i believe they were xenon but they might have been halogen I'm not sure. Either way my car should be the facelift model. and i do not have bmw scanner for pa soft.

To do this right, you need to recode the LCM. Search and find out how to set up NCS or PA soft. Its not that hard, but like any computer crap, can be annoying to get set up.

run your VIN# and see how the car was originally equipped
PASOFT (aka bmw scanner 1.4) with cable can be had on the big eauction site for around $30
if its cable only, the software can be had thru mikes easy bmw tools
