Hey everybody, long time lurker here. A coworker has a 2007 M6 with a 6-sp manual, and the thing is absolutely delicious. So I started looking for one. I came across a 2008 M5 with just over 33K miles on the clock. It is a silverstone metallic on black interior with the executive package (rear window blinds, HUD, etc). The car has an impressive set of documents from BMW dealers and indys as well.
They put new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, front brake replacement and thrust arm bushings about 6 months ago. It is a two-owner car with a clean carfax. It has had a PPI already done, but would do one of my own.
Talking to my coworker with the M6, I know what to expect and how much money to put aside each year for maintenance/repairs. If I buy it I would do all fluids/filters, spark plugs, the usual maintenance stuff right off the bat.
Other than the VANOS and rods/rod bearings, what else should I scrutinize? Since it has a true 6 speed manual, all of the problems with the SMG are not present, so that cuts down on expenses.
Appreciate the input and feedback!

Exhaust vanos gear is a problem with pre 08 cars, I’m dealing with that now. Most of the electronics and lighting updates are fairly common, and doable with enough research. Otherwise all common issues apply.
