    E39 530i Speed Limiter?

So according to BMW the 2002 & 2003 530i is electronically limited to 128mph, which may limit my track times.
Can anyone tell me if the 530i M-Sport has the same speed limiter, or is it set to 155mph as some unreliable internet sources claim?
Is there a way to remove or raise the speed limiter?
    Thanks!

Unless your track is a elongated oval plenty of straightaways, I'm not sure how it can limit your track times? Part of the limit was in balancing the braking and handling abilities of the car too.

In any case, getting your ECU flashed is the only way to remove the limit.

Get a Dinan Stage 1 software download. It will remove the top end limit and bump up the redline.
Doubt you can attain 128MPH on a local track.

or if you feel like tinkering your DME should be a Siemens MS43 or MS42 and you can remove or set the speed limiter as you please

but if you dont know much about computers or tuning best to pay Dinan / Dudmd / Kassell / Other tuning shop name here

Looks like Dinan solves the problem.
Not the type of track you are thinking of - in Texas we have open speed tracks. Some of them let you test a car's top speed.

Don't forget the Dinan Stage 1 also allows you to increase redline by a huge 240 rpm! Now that's icing on the cake for the track!

Frankly for the same $200+ I'd spend it towards a set of Eibach Sway Bars for much more fun.

Must be something like a straight mile run on an old airstrip?
There's one in NC and another in ME.

Yeah, in NY we had an old runway we used for races. But in Texas the tracks are built special (and legal!).
