while cleaning my car after taking it out of storage, the fuel door rubber stopper fell out... it's somewhere in my driveway.
i replaced it a very, very long time ago, but i cannot find the PN for the life of me. RealOEM seems to only list the fuel door now. I would have bought it from trademotion.com, and the order confirmations i have do not list part numbers.
to be clear, i'm talking about the small rubber nipple that sits in a slot of the fuel fill door and prevents the door slamming into the metal stop when closed. it also keeps the door flush with the body. it's about 0.25" dia, pointed on one side, narrow in the center where it sits in the door, and blunt on the other, about 3/8-1/2" in length.
anyone have a PN and source?
thanks!
EDIT:
found the answer here after some more searching:

Just got one several months ago from PelicanParts.
BMW Fuel Door Buffer Stop - 51178153364 For Z3, M3, E36, 328is, 328i, 325is, 325i, 323is, 323i, 318ti, 318is, 318i
DON'T REPLACE IT WITH SAME!
As an act of courtesy, every time a car arrives here missing that bumper__that gets knocked off when you wash the inside of the fuel filler door (you DO wash that area every time you wash your car, right?)__I put a rubber bumper that was intended to go between the rear fender and bumper. Mount it to the tab on the body (after cleaning with a paint-safe solvent).
The ones on my cars have remained in place for well over a decade without getting lost, and they're the correct height so the door sits flush with the fender.
Might as well see if you need to replace the ones on the bumper ends too...

Thank you Mr Forbes!
I was looking for the part you mentioned in the thread I linked, but had no idea where to start. And you're right - I've knocked it out every time I detailed the car. It'd been sitting for so long I forgot, it surprised me when it popped out this time.
I'll take your advice.
Cheers,
Phil
