How many other eurosport 2.1 L Superchargers left out there? (pics inside)

Just curios about others who have a still running 2.1 L Eurosport Supercharger. I did a little bit of internet research/VIN research/detective work to find out the origin of the car I recently bought and became curious as to how many others have the 2.1L setup.Mainly curious as it seems like the 2.1's are somewhat different outside of just the blower, as this one uses the O-rings for the intake manifold and not the paper gasket and has a slightly different set-up. Also curious as I have been working through the car running ever so slightly rich, but really just curious if there are others I can reference for more info on parts/etc.

It looks like the car I bought last winter was originally a car owned by Susan28 and then passed to someone in AZ and then to Madison, WI and eventually to me in Madison WI. A bit more background on the original owner of the car, https://www.bimmerboost.com/showthre...2-1L-Stage-One. Previous WI owner did a good job on the path to getting this car cleaned up and I have been continuing that.

The car has been incredible amounts of fun and brining it back to a bit of former glory has been nice ( redoing intake tract, adding a intake heat shield, putting in proper spark plugs, re-adjusting suspension (front had NO pre-load), front brakes/calipers, fluids, leaks, new clutch/flywheel, fixing PS leak, tranny mounts, battery mount fix, and some minor stuff).

Car sale photos from previous owner:

Very nice car, and it's great to see that you are reviving the TS.

Do you know anything about the bottom end of the engine (e.g., built, compression)?

Really nice piece of engineering. The twin screw is an 'adiabatic' design that compresses the air inside the supercharger (efficient!) rather than a centrifugal or roots type that compresses it at the engine (shove enough air into an engine and it will compress, kind of like a reverse fart!). I am sure that the manufacture (Lysolm?) still makes parts for it, but I'm sure they are not cheap. Enjoy

I would send the compressor in for a rebuild before it has a bearing failure.

Update: just did my first track day at Blackhawk. Car did great minus rubbing a small hole in the upper radiator hose. Made it home with no issues and am fixing it up now.

Car looks great. I think a lot of us would like to see some videos of the car on the track and dynos, I’ve always liked big TS superchargers.

I remember seeing this car at TRM in GA after Susan passed.
I sold her my 1.7L kit a year before when I made the jump to turbo.

I miss the immediate power and impressive techincal feat that Josh put into his klit,

but love not running out of power up top with my GT40r.

Wow, I wondered why the car was sold so quick after being built with some much care and attention to detail.

Up next is a little overflow catch can for the power steering fluid. Just getting a lot of spray and seepage from the reservoir. Replaced the o-ring and lowered the fluid level last night.

Had one final track day at Road America, held up great! Put in a aluminum section to prevent pulley rubbing. Will be hanging the car up for the season as we are already on our 3rd snow. Will be tackling some maintenance, tie rods, and a few other minor items this winter.

Now just trying to decide if I sell her and move onto something new or go all out with the car for next years track season...Anyone interested?

I wouldn't say I went all out, but I did do fun some work over the past 2-3 years to make her reliable and fun enough to drive to and from work a few times a month and also to 2-3 HPDE events per year. Love this car, overall hoot. I am putting her up for sale soon, which is bittersweet, but moving on to a fun 996 911. I would keep her for another few years, but it's just time for something new and the garage only has so many spots.

This car had some quirks and still has a few. There is this grind from a 3-4 downshift that happens when not close enough in rev matching. There is a small oil leak from the OFHG that I just don't think was ever serious enough to change. The tune on this car has been perfect, I read way to far into some fuel trim items, but it does pop a CEL P1187 when cruising/going down hill everyone in a while. AFRs have always been good and adapted really smoothly to the slightly smaller pulley. A few of those aging spots here and there with some minor rust bubbling, but who cares when you can hear that supercharger start whining!

    • Smaller 3 7/8 pulley from the original 4
    • Steering rack+ inner/outer tie rods and all new power steering lines
    • Refreshed PS pump seals
    • New clutch and lightweight flywheel
    • New slave cylinder
    • rally road oil coiler cap + setrab oil cooler
    • new oil pressure gauge line
    • Electric fan conversion
    • Stainless clutch line
    • new guibo
    • new vanos line
    • FCAB
    • Refreshed all shifter bushings
    • front brake lines
    • New calipers up front * Twice on the right
    • Pads all around
    • Cooling system hoses all replaced along with the reservoir
    • Transmission and differential fluid changed
    • New slave cylinder
    • New speakers
    • Radium catch can setup
    • Hood vent and rear wing
    • Schroth Quick fit harness
    • Yearly oil, SC oil, Spark plug and other fluid changes as prescribed based on the above repairs/yearly refresh
