Angry NCS Expert "VIN is faulty"

Hello I have been trying to code my 2002 E39 all day and have gotten INPA to show the two black dots showing that the cable and ignition are on. But when I close INPA and open NCS Expert and load a profile, I select start, then choose my car (E39) then module (EWS) and it does not load the rest and I get an error saying "VIN is faulty". I went to the ncs expert website and downloaded the most up-to-date daten files and have tried updating them without any difference.

I am trying to code in my bi-xenon headlights and reinstate my mirror tilt on reverse function. I had the engine swapped from a E39 2.5L to a E46 3.0L and had the DME reprogrammed and that seemed to take away my mirror tilt function. Have tried reinstalling several times without any luck. Please help.

Connect pin 7and8 and it will fix the issue, assuming you are using a k+dcan cable

Did you fix your problem? Im having the same issue with 2000/09 bmw e38 using 20pin round connector under the hood.
