my car does not start after replacing new battery from battery discharge warning.

I would like to know what I can do to start my car, since my 2011 535I F10 SHUT off while idling with the battery discharge and engine malfunction warning coming on. The warning said please do not turn off engine ignition then car keeps shutting off with battery discharge. I bought and installed new battery but brake would not depress and car would not crank over. Any help on issue PLEASE SHARE THANK YOU.

you also have to Register the new battery with the DME on the car. It probably still thinks you have the old battery which sounds like it failed.

Not registering the new battery will not prevent the car from starting. If it won't start with the new battery, then something else is wrong. Could be the starter, ground wire, another electrical problem, battery not installed properly, etc.

I recharged battery and reprogrammed it, also had to replace the starter. Now my car runs fine, thanks for the helpful information.
